I had an acrylic background on a large sheet of w/c paper.
Just large brushstrokes & lines of colors I rarely use.
I folded then tore it into 12 postcard pieces.
So here is the step-by-step for Katie.

"The Swallows Return"
From April 5 - 9 is the time of the year when swallows,
which are a summer bird in Japan, begin to migrate back after spending
the winter in more temperate Southeast Asia. Swallows have no interest
in our crops, and instead feed on pests that do. It's for this reason
that swallows have always been adored in Japan and their return often
signaled the beginning of the farming season.
A swallow's nest built on the side of a store or inside a train station
are considered signs of good luck and store owners or station masters
will go to great lengths to protect the nest.
