2GN2S ...

An old tired-looking dog wanders into a guy's yard. He examines the dog's collar and feels his well-fed belly and knows the dog has a home.

The dog follows him into the house, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep. The man thinks its rather odd, but lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.

The next day the dog comes back and scratches at the door. The guy opens the door, the dog comes in, goes down the hall, jumps on the couch, gets comfortable and falls asleep again. The man lets him sleep. After about an hour the dog wakes up, walks to the door and the guy lets him out. The dog wags his tale and leaves.

This goes on for days. The guy grows really curious, so he pins a note on the dog's collar: "Your dog has been taking a nap at my house every day."
The next day the dog arrives with another note pinned to his collar: "He lives in a home with four children -- he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'

As mentioned yesterday, here, I recieved a beautiful, tiny Hisamatsuri doll from Mitzi.

Today I received a wonderful e-mail from Mitzi ...

"A) You're most welcome for tiny doll. I thought you'd appreciate her. Exquisite picture..by the way.

B) Also, so happy you posted the Quetzal the national bird of Guatemala.

Quetzal

For 3 years I was a volunteer on a Habitat building project in Cantel, Guatemala and then another two at headquarters as editor of Global Village newsletters and leader of volunteer teams to Guatemala, Mexico and the Dominican Republic for Habitat.

Want to share the legend of the Quetzal with you. It is said that the bird laid on the chest of a dying Mayan warrior fighting the Spanish invaders and that's why its chest is a vivid red with this hero's blood. Also, the Quetzal CANNOT BE CAGED - it dies in captivity....so it is a symbol of freedom. Just in case you didn't know the back story on this almost fantastical looking creature. Their money is referred to as Quetzals equivalent to our dollar bill.

Smiles - Mitzi"

• Mitzi was a student in several of my classes and is a fine artist. We have kept in touch. But isn't it lovely to learn more about Mitzi and her life experiences? I had already planned to make a thank you card for Mitzi, so this morning I started after putting in a laundry load. I know Mitzi likes collage, so I started on a hand-made collage card, and a few letters in I decided to make a step-by-step? So here is the beginning, torn letters ...

It was here that I decided to make the "O" in you, to be Mitzi!

Looks weird, and I love long necks!

Close-up of the weird before face.

 Make-up and jewelry does wonders!

Close-up of the after face.

Mitzi will get this card early next week, but since she follows this silly blog, she is getting a preview.

2GN2S ...

McDonald's pickle slice can be yours for $6,288

Auckland, New Zealand, artist Matthew Griffin made a piece of art called "Pickle," and it's exhibited "on the ceiling of an Auckland art gallery." You might be wondering what type of dill-icious pickle it was — a dill pickle, sour pickle, gherkin, lime pickle, or maybe the Kool-Aid pickle (via Fruit Stand)? The Sydney-based artist flung "a single slice of pickle plucked from a McDonald's cheeseburger" on the ceiling, and people have already made up their minds about the art piece. Some called it "moronic," while others said that it's "brilliant" or "genius." What's best is that you don't get the pickle that's on the ceiling — whoever buys it will get a cheeseburger and "instructions on how to recreate the art in their own space" so they can flick it on their own ceiling. Really!

While doing the research on the subject, I found a compendium of burgers which are one of the USA's most recognizable food icons. So much so, Americans were estimated to eat 50 billion burgers a year — or enough to circle the Earth 32 times. So, here are the most well-known fast food burgers.

White Castle Slider

Dairy Queen Cheeseburger

McDonald's Quarter Pounder

Burger King Whopper

Shake Shack : Shack Burger

Smashburger: Classic Smash

Carl's Jr.: Original Six Dollar Thickburger

Fatburger: Medium Fatburger

Jack in the Box: Jumbo Jack

Wendy's: Dave's Single

A&W: Papa Burger

Whataburger: Whataburger

Five Guys: Hamburger

In-N-Out Burger: Hamburger

The burgers were shown from least to most favorite by this article, who said of In-N-Out : The best; the creme de la creme; the head honcho; the bee's knees; the godfather; the undisputed heavyweight champion of the fast food hamburger world: In-N-Out. The toppings are simple (lettuce, onions and tomatoes) but compounded with a special sauce that more than makes up for it. Everything is entirely fresh — peek inside the kitchen of your local In-N-Out and you won't find a microwave, heat lamp or freezer in sight. Vegetables are hand-selected, while pretty much everything is regionally-sourced and free of additives and preservatives.

Feeling very grateful and blessed . Today I had lunch with Grandhunk#2 at a new place ...

608 E 1st St. Tustin, CA 92780. · (714) 617-5566

A new local store front Thai restaurant with high ratings and recommended by good friend, Yvonne.

Good food!

Grandhunk #2 (Jake)

I love these one on one lunches where we can talk and catch up. Hearing Jake's goals and dreams. Watching and listening to this handsome 23 year old, is priceless.

For the foodies out there, we had drunken (basil) noodles, orange chicken, rice and gyoza & shared.

And, when we got home I had a package at the front door, a delivery by Amazon from Mitzi Winks!

A tiny box, inside a small box, inside a bigger box! It felt like Christmas! And inside the tiny box was an exquisite Hinamatsuri doll, only 2" tall and less than an inch wide. My photo doesn't do her justice

Thank you, Mitzi, you are so kind and thoughtful! She is beautiful and is perfect here in the studio.

And, while I am on gratitude and thanking, I want to thank Yvonne for my new book ...

recommended by Rad Nana, I am near to 1/4 in. Willie just got shot. Thank you Yvonne!
