Update ...
Young WonderWoman and Uncle Owen |
April 1 is Uncle Owen's birthday. He was a great man. Smart, tender, funny. A school teacher, successful farmer & businessman. He could be gruff, strict, probably his school teacher facade, but there was always a twinkle in his eye. He had a wonderful sense of humor & told the best stories.
A terrific husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, neighbor, teacher and more.
Pauline and Owen |
Proud father to daughters, Donna, Nancy and Martha Mae. All college graduates and happily married.
Donna, Martha Mar, Nancy |
Grandfather to Sheryl, Scott, Paula, Denise, Janice and Brian.
Great grandfather to Justin, Donovan, Jayden, Julia, Connor, Ryan, Gavin, Jordan, Peyton, Abbey, Will and Megan.
Uncle to Katha, Alana, Carmen, David, Jacki, Erin, Dana, Jayna, Aaron, Marc, Austin, Kalene, Briana, Taylor, Alivia, Abbi, Eli, Ayden, Dean, Liam & Jackson.
But later I grew up, married, had my own little girl (WW) who also fell in love with her Uncle Owen.
Happy Birthday Uncle Owen!
Thanks for coming by today.

Such a lovely family story with so many lovely photos. Blessed is who has such a wonderful family. Thanks for sharing.
Your collage is terrific!
Have a great weekend, Jacky!
When I heard "pickle sandwich". I had to watch. When I was a little girl, way back when. My parents would drive from California to Nebraska every summer because that was "home" to Mom, and she and Dad are still there.
But sitting in the back seat and smelling smoke made me kind of car sick. SO when we stopped for food, I would always order a pickle sandwich: just bread slices filled with dill pickles. I still love dill pickles and used to always get a whole one as a teenager from the German meat market where my mom used to shop. This whole story brought back a lot of good memories, as the story about WW and her uncle did. Thank you.
Thank you, Elenor. Yes, I do feel blessed with a great family and memories. Wishing you and your family a wonderful weekend.
Thanks Carrol, it always pleases me when the silly blog provokes good memories. It is funny how a word, phrase, photo o even a small can trigger memories that we have tucked away somewhere. Thanks again for taking time to comment, it makes my day.
