Mama duck hatches 10 ducklings at a Florida maternity ward
The mother duck, along with her ducklings, were gently ushered through the maternity ward.
This smart mama duck found herself at the right place when she delivered her babies in the labor & delivery atrium of Baptist Medical Center Beaches this week! Mom and her 10 ducklings were safely escorted out of the building by staff.
The mother and her ducklings were safely escorted from the building by medical center staff, including a nurse manager and lactation consultant, according to a Facebook post from the hospital. The video shows several staff members gently using boards to guide the happy family out of the building.
The mother duck flew into the hospital’s enclosed courtyard, where she built her nest and laid her eggs, according to CNN affiliate Action News Jax. But once the ducklings hatched, the mother duck couldn’t fly out with them – so she had to be escorted through the labor and delivery unit, said Action News Jax.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Sunshine State is home to at least four different species of duck year-round.

You are right, Jacki, this is a strange time of year. Should we look back and think about all that happened or should we focus on the new year with new possibilities, hopes, plans, wishes,... or both?
Looking back I see how grateful I can be and I feel blessed to live in this region of the world with a wonderful family. And being able to manage everyday life without problems and having the time and opportunity to be creative and being able to learn something new.
I can not imagine how demoralized the Russian soldiers must feel....going off to war but not be supplied to carry out their orders. No wonder so many men fled the country so as to avoid being conscripted. This war has to end.
Thanks Elenor, yes, even my days get mixed up! I'll catch up soon?
Thanks, John. Yes, praying for peace in 2023.
