2GN2S ...

13 stranded strangers on a road trip.

Flights get canceled sometimes; it's a pain, but it happens. Rather than sulk or attempt to re-book, an enterprising group of passengers whose trip from Orlando to Knoxville, Tennessee, was canceled. Instead rented a van to make it home on time. Thirteen of them made the trip across state lines, sharing stories and documenting their journey on TikTok. The passengers spanned ages and backgrounds: There was a teen visiting a college with her parents and another with a critical appointment in a custody case; a minister and a farmer who only spoke Spanish; an influencer and a recent college graduate. And they all made it to Knoxville with minimal traffic and more than a few bathroom breaks. "I feel like this situation for me specifically kind of restored my trust and humanity a little bit," one passenger told CNN. "There's definitely hope for people —
people, they can be good."

This is the weird two-week stretch where nothing really gets done and everyone's just riding it through the holidays. (Unless you work in the restaurant industry, or shipping, or retail, or the healthcare industry, or janitorial services, or at a gas station, or an airport, or a place of worship, or as a musician.

My accomplishments are small, I do have decorations up and have mailed some cards. I only have a few packages wrapped, but plan on that this week.

I received two new ornaments as gifts. A beautiful handmade tiny gourd ornament for Norma, Eastside artist, who is queen of gourd art.

And, a new tortoise ornament, decked out for the holidays, from Josie, Eastside artist, I love it too!

All the rest of my Christmas decorations are the same.

My precious little tree. Perfect! I heard a personality saying you could tell so much about a person by their tree selection. I thought about mine, yes, perfect! I bought at an art fair years ago, it's just under 12 inches. Minimal is an overstatement?

My 4" Japanese Santa from high school best friend
Karen Hirota (Tamura), almost 63+ years ago. He  keeps me company in my studio year-round.

The ancient door decor with bells and an angel.

Christmas cactus in full bloom at the front door.

My Grandmother's 4" high nativity, 100+ years old.

My 1" high wooden Christmas train a gift from Colin Morris, over 35+ years ago.

An antique steel car ornament by artist Sherry Goodloe, 2014. I am just beginning to work on wrapping a few gifts.

Thanks, John. It's a bit dark but that how I felt after hearing the news.
Hope you are feeling better?
