 Update ...

She is on a tirade and I am afraid it is going to spill out on to this silly blog. Warning, there will be ranting and raving from a normally meek and mild old lady. But, when severely provoked, she can turn into an uglier form of the Tasmanian devil.

It all started with an increase to a $295.16 cable bill. Mind you, this is to cover basic cable + 1 tier, internet- no movie channels etc. landline phone, and an unwanted, but pressured to accept "home security" which they said would make the bundle cheaper. The latter was worthless, but when she tried to cancel, she was told that she couldn't for one year! Steam!!

Luckily, her cell phone is carried by her son-in-law, Superman. She decides she can forgo the land line to bring down the cost. So she goes to an online Cox chat line with "Oliver"!

An "easy way to solve her problems" they say!

So it began at 4pm, a discussion with the automated Oliver, who soon transferred her to live Jay M. Two hours later, (she has the transcript to prove the conversation) the bill had been negotiated down to $174.55 without the landline and home security. Still too high, but as good as it seemed she was going to get? So she thought she was done?

Only to find a message on her cell phone this morning, saying ...

Cox: You're getting Homelife services installed soon. Here's how to prepare. Watch the short video and review some helpful tips here: www.cox.com/prepare

And , if that weren't bad enough, five, yes five actual separate e-mails ...

And so, she is preparing to go to battle.
Wish her luck?

She invested another 55 minutes with Jei M. to make corrections for incorrect text and e-mails.
She has all appendages crossed, hoping to be done.

2GN2S

One good thing that came out of the two hour marathon, she discovered that if she put the time at the end of each response, the agent answered more quickly. She assumed that the agent was handling perhaps several customers at the same time. Since she was going to request a transcript, the timed responses would be recorded. It really worked.

A public service suggestion?

You are the master of layering. I just love the text and the way you angled it. It all works so well. :-)

Looking at "war paint" I can imagine how you felt when you got this bill. That's really annoying. But your art of the day is great.
