Today is Aunt Vonda's birthday.
A special lady to so many of us.

We loved her so, and you would have loved her too.

Eighth born in a family of ten children ...

Seven children survived, four were teachers.

As a young teacher, she met & married Uncle Kenneth ...

who went to war ... and she followed.

She lost her one true love, and never remarried.

After, she gave her love to family, friends and students.

Aunt Vonda, like her sisters, was a great teacher.

From a one room school house to modern classrooms.

A teacher who played ball with the kids at recess.

I am lucky to have all of her school photos from over the years.

She saved them & the names of every student she ever taught.

Later, after retiring, she would visit her nieces.

The kind of Aunt who knew where you kept your silverware.

Not just at my house, but at all the cousins.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Vonda!
We miss you so.

just because ...

Aunt Vonda had a canary songbird, named Bing.

A smile for Monday ...

(best back to school, ever)

Your family stories are always fun. You look like your mom: guess that's no surprise. And I loved the password joke.

Have a great week.

Great image! Just how many kids can fit on a horse? 5 I guess. :-)

Yes, I guess five, depending on size?
No room for more I think,
but don't you imagine they had fun?
