You gotta see this
This is a satellite image of Antarctica (which explains all the ice and snow), and those little brown smudges are ... wait for it ... penguin colonies!
New imaging has revealed that there are nearly 20% more emperor penguin
colonies in Antarctica than previously thought. That's good news, for
the most part, because penguins are always good news. However,
scientists have pointed out that, with the looming specter of climate
change, the fate of the colonies will tell us a lot about how Antarctica
is being affected.

Seabird
poop could be worth millions of dollars. At least, that’s what scientists studying it say. Researchers claim that guano — waste produced by seagulls, pelicans, and penguins — can be used as commercial fertilizer and is vital for contributing nutrients to marine ecosystems because of the various fragrant and ecologically important gases it produces.
The value of such organic treasure could be $473 million each year, and possibly much more. Well, one bird’s waste is the planet’s treasure?

I often am amused by your smiles for the day. Comparing what was common then and now really was fun. Some things were easier or better and some were not. We tend to forget what was not so good and take for granted what got better.
Have a wonderful day, dear Jacki!
I love when you use a realistic image in an abstract piece. In this case the man also has an abstract quality. Just love it! :-)
Thanks, Elenor, some of those I had forgotten. Other seem like yessterday?
I am so happy that you enjoyed them. I had more but just picked 10. The smiles andd videos have ended uo having a theme lately. Please take good care and be safe.
Thanks, John. I kind of thought you might like this one.
I like how most don't see the guy right away.

Oh crap, it took me a bit to realize those were camera flashes!
Well, Bramuffin you are still a bit young for the quiz. B+ is not your normal grade, right?
