Update ...

Last Tuesday I got a text from Grandhunk #1 ...

I had been looking forward to seeing him and this morning was the day. I arrived early, and then  (GH#1) beautiful and Katie arrived and we went in to the gym. I sent a text to WW who is in Arizona ...

with good friends, Jim and Kerry. She replied ...

So Katie obliged. We were early and got a seat.

GM#1 is an EMT and studying to be a paramedic, and eventually a firefighter. He has always wanted to help people. He studies Muay Thai, or "Thai boxing," a martial art and combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This discipline is known as the "art of eight limbs," as it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, and shins.

We had no idea of what to expect, or how many people. But it turned out to be a large group, probably 70 adults and about 40 juniors, all training at once. They wore ...

Club t-shirt, shorts, shin guards, hand wraps and gloves.

Their instructor talked than gave demonstrations

which they practiced with a partner to his count.

With about 70 + students all practicing on the big mat, I was surprised that even the young juniors were training too, and doing pretty well at that.

I mainly watched my handsome Grandhunk #1.

But then I noticed that he had another admirer.

A real cutie ...

After a 70 minute workout it was time to award  certificates of promotion. A big crowd.

(GH#1 is the tall one at right)

What a great Saturday morning. I felt so lucky to be able to attend, and learn about Muay Thai.

Jacki, you look so good and young in this lovely photo Kathie took. As you know I always enjoy your family pictures. I can see how proud you are of GH#1 and how much you love him. I'm glad you had such a wonderful weekend.

Loved the story about GH#1 and the "art of the eight limbs". Also like Madame Curie's comment.
