Update ...

I got a sweet e-mail today from good friend and artist, Norma mentioning yesterday's feature on Maine Coon cats, here. I responded :

I love cats too, and we used to have Siamese when we were first married, Zen and Yogi. Yogi thought he was a dog and could play fetch. Zen was so smart she figured out how to open our bathroom door so we had no privacy. They do have their own personalities. After Z&Y, we had the Pong brothers, Ping and Pong Long, who might have been a descendant of the evil Siamese twins of Druella?

They worked together and teased poor Shogun, our gentle giant Great Dane. One time Ping teased Shogun and he chased him under a chair in the bedroom. Picture this huge dog down on his front paws, with his back end up in the air as he tried to see Ping under the chair. Meanwhile Pong came from behind and bit his leg. By the time he turned around both had run upstairs. That was just one episode. I'm enclosing a photo of Ping & Pong Long. I had removed a kitchen drawer to reorganize, and when I turned around they both had taken up residence.

Writing the above to Norma, I decided to use this in tomorrow's blog. I had been wondering what I would use? Thanks Norma!

Heroes across borders

As war in Ukraine rages on, CNN Heroes are answering the call for help. Zane Buzby, founder of the Survivor Mitzvah Project and a 2014 CNN Hero, has raced to aid Holocaust survivors caught in the crisis. Her organization has been a lifeline for more than 2,500 survivors across Eastern Europe, providing them with humanitarian aide and support. Since war broke out, the Survivor Mitzvah Project's translators and volunteers have focused their efforts, making visits, phone calls and communicating through letters to stay in touch with the roughly 350 survivors they support in the country. Such companionship, Buzby says, is especially important during this time of upheaval and confusion. Along the western Ukrainian border, star chef and humanitarian José Andrés is providing meals through his organization, World Central Kitchen. He's also pledged funds from his $100 million Jeff Bezos Courage and Civility Award. "We must come together as a force for good!" Andrés says

You captured the atrocity in this piece. I can’t wait for the day when you can create a piece entitled “Peace”.

Jacki, you show perfectly what is wrong. So sad. I never thought this could happen in our times after all the disastrous and traumatizing experiences, all the suffering and harm of WW2. So good to read that there are also such good people helping.
I also loved the advise "Keep fighting" and I would add "never give up".

Thanks, John. Yes, wouldn't that be wonderful! As my Dad would say, don't hold your breath. But we can hope.
