Photographer Spends 6 Months Traveling Photograph Siberia’s Indigenous People
Alexander Khimushin immersed himself in the Siberian landscape. He traveled 15,000
miles alone behind the wheel of an SUV to track down and photograph the
indigenous people of this frozen land. Moving from the shores of Lake
Baikal to the coast of the Japan Sea, he visited a variety of ethnic
minority tribes. Many of them had populations down to several dozen
people.

I am so glad you are creating a piece each day in support of the Ukrainian people. Let’s hope peace comes very soon. :-)
Hi Jackie! Just wanted to say hi and thank you for your daily blog.
I don't have time to comment all the time, but I enjoy it all the same.
I especially love the photos of the indigenous people.
These portraits are outstanding. They not only show the personality of these men and women , they also show how rich our earth is in different peoples. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we appreciated this treasure instead of fighting each other?
Happy Sunday, Jacki!
Thank you, John. Yes, the invasion is on our mind all the time I think, so even though I am not big on prompts, this one is too big to dismiss. Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Julie. It is so good to hear from you, and I do know you are busy as I read your every blog. Although I have been unable to comment. Yes, I agree, these portraits are stunning and 2GN2S, too good not to share. Thanks again, take good care, Julie.
Thank you, Elenor. I agree his photography and ability to show not only the outward character in each portrait, but I think, the soul.
I really admire his dedication. You are so right about appreciating each other instead of fighting. Will we ever learn?
Have a great weekend.
