 2GN2S ...

Rare wolverine sighting

A wolverine was running through the snow in the northeast corner of Yellowstone National Park.

Contrary to its name, the wolverine isn't related to the wolf. It's actually part of the weasel family, which also includes badgers, ferrets and otters.

The species' scientific name is Gulo gulo, which means "glutton glutton." Apt, since wolverines are known for gorging themselves on food and hoarding the leftovers for later. A tourist in Yellowstone National Park recently recorded an ultra-rare sighting of a wolverine (above top) galloping in the snow. By a 2009 count, there were only seven wolverines in the entire park!

“My tears have always been Ukrainian.
The Ukrainian heart is still in me…”
-Leon Hushcha

Born in a displaced persons camp in Austria, raised by Ukrainian-speaking parents in post-WWII Minnesota, Leon Hushcha grew up skilled in the art of balancing between two cultures - like a tightrope walker maintaining balance on a stretched wire between two points.

Drawing and painting, from the age of five, became a balancing tool and the base of support - art became the moment of force. Note the blue and yellow in this painting, representing the colors of the Ukrainian flag, and the striking points of red - representing blood.

You have captured the feeling of war and despair.

Such sad eyes .... It hurts to see them. A child should laugh and have fun. I really hope this will be possible soon.
Another very interesting artist portrait. Thanks, Jacki!
