 Update/ TMI

A week ago today I had a scheduled plumber work order for 3-5pm. They didn't come. At 6 pm I had standing water in my hallway. I called again and all of their men were out on jobs and he would send someone but it would be late. Thank goodness for big fluffy beach towels to soak it up.

I waited till midnight then went to bed, again a no -show. A nice young man came at 9am Saturday morning, and looked at the water damage to the ceiling and walls.  I also had water damage to the ceiling of my master walk-in closet. He said it would need to be tested.

On Monday a man from the AQS Environmental Services came at 9 am and took photos and samples, saying I would get the results later in the week. Wednesday I got the call that A-Z plumbing would be coming out to open the ceiling and look for the source Friday between 7 - 9am. Progress, but on Thursday my closet looked like this!

I need to note that my home is small, just a little over 1,000 sq.ft. so all of this needs to be removed and put somewhere? WW said text/call the strong grandhunks, and they would have be great to help, but it would be a quick fix. I wanted to go slow and know where everything was. I also wanted to do some purging along the way. So I didn't call.

All the clothes on hanger are laid flat in the bathtub. I can shower in the guest bathroom.

Luggage and bags were filled with shoes and stuff and stored in the corners.

Every corner stacked and designated.  And, my little closet looks like ...

And, all the artwork is down from the hallway.

If I sound proud of myself, I kinda am. My understanding is that they will curtain-off the hallway and closet so they can open up the ceiling and bring in fans for the moisture.

So now I wait for A-Z plumbing. Fun time, but at least they will hopefully be getting to it before my surgery next week. Always something, right?

A fun 7-minute video, Song of Olympia, here.

SPECIAL: "Les oiseaux dans la charmille," also known as Olympia's Song or the Doll Song from Jacques Offenbach's opera "The Tales of Hoffman," is considered one of the hardest pieces of music ever written for soprano voice. It's also bizarre and delightful -- after all, she's playing a wind-up doll!

Oh gosh, Jacki. You did all of that with one arm? And purged? You must be exhausted. Good luck. Keep us posted. I love that pop of turquoise on Charmaine. You’re a master!

I'm so sorry you have such troubles, that's annoying.
You really can be proud of yourself having removed everything alone. But how are your shoulders now? I hope your problems will be solved before your surgery.
Wishing you a good night without pain and a peaceful Sunday.

Oh, Jacki! So sorry to hear about the water damage. It sounds like you took charge though. I love the white negative space in your latest piece….fun how that makes the face. :-)

Thanks, Irene. Yes, it was a lot to move, but I only moved 4-5 hangers at a time, with many trips. If the boys had helped me it would have been 40 hangers at a time, quicker, but I wouldn't know where anything was? I also took an hour break a couple of times and relaxed and watched tv. At least I know where everything is, and if I have to live like this for a while, I can. Thanks for your kind words, they do help, as always.

Thanks Elenor, my shoulders held up okay because I did a few a time, no great weights. I had my acupuncture appointment this morning so I am taking good care.. Wishing you a great weekend, Elenor.

Thanks John, I think I went too far with the background, but ultimately I just went with it. Wishing you a great weekend!
