Update - Day 3
The Olympic Sloth started the day by watching USA and Japan in the ladies softball gold medal game live at 4:30 this morning.
It was a good game, but Japan did better and won. Monica Abbott, USA pitcher
The German dressage team won gold.
Then came the news of Simone Biles withdrawal from the team gymnastics competition.
If you have ever watched Simone over the years , you would have known something was wrong when she tried her vault, leaving out two moves and had an uncharacteristic a faulty landing. None of us can really imagine the pressure she has been under. And I really am irritated that people have been so eager to post so many negative comments. Just what she needs, right? I will not publish any here, but I found two positives that I will share.
I realize the Olympics are about the gold medasl, and we all like for our country to win gold, but that was never the original goal. Long before the ads commercial endorsements, and politics, it was about goodwill between countries, athletes working hard towards their goals, camaraderie, skills and sportsmanship.
Thanks for coming by today.

Jacky, the two girls are just so sweet and even sweeter in your version.
Your pics of the Olympics are wonderful again. You are so right that only giving bad comments on another person and not being able to achieve any comparable performance is simply disgusting. Simone is such a brave young lady who deserves everybody's respect.
Thanks Elenor, I so agree with your sentiments. People are so eager to harshly judge. ;op. I saw your lovely Austrian young lady win gold today. I am happy for all who even try to teach their goals.
Isn't it funny how I zero in on something? I like how the stems accent in this piece. :-)
Thanks John, your comments are so appreciated and mean a lot to me.
