2GN2S

Family news from Indiana.

The county 4H fair is coming up in a few weeks and Brielle is Jayden's dairy cow project.  She is a young Holstein.  Jayden's job has been to 'halter train' Brielle and get her accustomed to being led around by the halter and being handled by people.

4H students come to the dairy farm in Thorntown four mornings a week to train their cow by first convincing her to come away from the herd,

putting the halter on her (sometimes an ordeal) and leading her around the barnyard

Some cows are cooperative, some decide not to be that day.

When Jayden shows Brielle at the fair, she will be judged on Brielle's appearance and how well she behaves as Jayden leads her around the judging ring.

During the week of the fair, Jayden will be with Brielle 13 hours a day at her stall at the fairgrounds, keeping her clean and reminding her of her training.

Quite an education for a girl from the suburbs.

Wishing all of the 4H-ers luck at the fair!

4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing. Love the palm trees with the junk mail. Very effective use of realist with fonts of the junk mail. :-)

Wow! What a great blog, Jacki!

The 4H story was delightful and I enjoyed watching the video with the man's relationship to his dog. (I am working on that with Bentley who was definitely one of my good ideas: he's great.) The rose-colored bird was so unusual: not as gawdy as some of them, but so beautiful. And I was definitely laughing at the jokes. The art by artist w. Berry was quite adorable and profound. Just loved having this be the way I started the day. Thank you!

Thank you, John. I love getting your take. I guess
I need text in my compositions?

Today's collage is superb! Just the way I love it. The palm trees complement the already great collage perfectly.
I also liked the Throwback Thursday pic. You know I immediately found you and young Erin. She has two medals, how great! And does she already have a black belt? You must be so proud of her.

Thank you, Elenor. I am glad you liked the Palm collage, I like it.Yes, Erin started karate t 5, at her request, juniors earn a red bed belt which is our equivalent of a junior black belt. She earned he black belt at 18, which is when we think they are responsible enough for it.
