Day 3246: 5 cousins + 1.

"5 cousins + 1 friend": old photo, digital collage.

After Martha Mae was born, we were 5 cousins, and in this picture, + one friend.  They all lived in Indiana. I lived in California but often got to visit for the summer. So many great memories. By age & rank we were Katha, Donna, Nancy, me and Martha. See that sweet face on Martha? She still has that same sweet expression at 75. Four cousins grew up to be teachers, Nancy is a RN.

Did you know?

Detachable Headrest in Cars

As a kid, did you ever sit in the backseat on family road trips and play with the headrest of the person in the front seat? Anyway, you may have noticed that this headrest can completely come out of the seat. Is this a crazy flaw in car design?

Nope. On the contrary, it’s meant to be used in an emergency. If you’re trapped in your car, you can pull out the headrest and use the long metal bars to break the window so you can get out. It’s a life hack that could literally save your life someday.

What a precious photo of your cousins + 1 friend. It would be interesting to know what was going on in their lives. Each of them could tell a long story and I just hope they were happy. Life always is a challenge.
Today's Just because is so cute and I also liked all Smiles for Sunday. Thanks, Jacki!

Thanks, John.
I am currently in an old photo mode, but I do jump around a lot, right?

Thanks Elenor. I can speak to the lives of all 5 ofthe cousins, but I did not know the friend?

The tallest cousin, Donna, recently passed away at 83. She had been a terrific first grade teacher, married 55 years and active in volunteer work after retiring. She was Nanct & Martha's big sister.

Katha the only blond, was an award winning teacher for 45 years. Now retired she has three children, six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Nancy, on the left, was a terrific Registered Nurse, and once saved her older sister's life by identifying her illness and getting her to the hospital in time. Retired she has two children and seven grandchildren.

Martha, the youngest, now 75, is also a retired elementary teacher, marries 50 years, has two children and nine grandchildren.
