Update

79 and counting. I don't know what it is, but when you get this old it's sort of an accomplishment and okay to say? WW had been saying 79 for a while, and when I protested that I was then still 78, she said, "well you are nearer to 79 than 78. She is usually right. I had never really felt my age until the past two years when some health issues surfaced. I use the term surface, because I believe some of the dumb things we do when we are young and immortal, surface later as an "I told you so".

me @ 1, 78 years ago.

So now I am 79 and feeling very blessed to have a wonderful family, friends, former students and a very lucky life. My Dad used to say, "if he'd known he was going to live this long, he would have taken better care of himself." Dad lived to 86, Mom died early at 52.  I thank those of you who take time from your day to read this silly blog. It does keep me responsible, and off the streets, or from rolling sailors.

Happy birthday, Jacki!!!

Funny about the "immortal" part when we're young. I remember you cringing when I would bounce from seiza position on my knees and not understanding.

I understand now.

Thank you, John! I love her very conservative demeanor and the outlandish hat. I like extremes.

Dear Jacki,

Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live!

Totally loved the three videos.
Last night,I told my husband and my son that I was thinking about either getting a dog or an apple watch as my Christmas gift, and they both started laughing. Guess they don't understand that a person can have multiple sides to their feelings. Hum!

Have a great weekend, and you are totally correct about your blog giving you a sense of purpose, but also a responsibility. Please don't ever stop. We love them.
