Last night was the Met Gala 2022

The theme continued 2021's exploration of American style -- in keeping with the Costume Institute's accompanying two-part exhibition, "In America: An Anthology of Fashion", many attendees took inspiration from the Gilded Age,  America transformed at the end of the 19th century.

Update ...

Monday morning I got a call from former student, good friend and adopted family, Brandon. He wondered if I had plans for that night and I replied not a thing. I would have to give up Jeopardy, but they were worth it. He invited me to his house for supper with Roberto and Dawn Torres in from Colorado. Both Brandon and Roberto were my students since both were seven years old, thirty plus years ago. Brandon is married to his beautiful and amazing wife, Courtney (sokugarden on Instagram) and they have two daughters Noelle and Nova. Roberto is married to the beautiful Dawn, a pediatric feeding & swallowing specialist who lectures on FB and all over the world. And, we also got to enjoy Roberto's Mom, Edilia Torres, one of my favorite people and parent.

A great evening, way better than the Met Gala with great, fun people. I bet we were more comfortable, ate better food and had more fun!

So true. I can not even imagine how difficult life in the Ukraine is right now. One day all Hell breaks loose, your world is turned upside down. Every day is exhausting and the worry is unbearable. So sad. You have captured all those feelings.

Thanks, John. I guess each generation faces their own waes and hell, but this seems so unfair. I guess that's synonymous with war.
