2GN2S ...

Good friend and Austrian artist has again shared some of her beautiful photography with us. It is Fall there and she said ... "Today the sun came out only after 3 pm and we decided  to go for a short walk. The light was incredibly beautiful."

"In the following two weeks the trees will change their leaves before falling down. I especially love those old pear trees which are gorgeous at the moment. Then we came by a beautiful manor house and a little round church next to it. We went on through the woods and then met a man on a really old tractor. After passing some fields we came back to our car."

For those of us that can't travel to Austria in the Fall, this has to be the next best thing?

Thank you, Elenor!

2GN2S #2

Imagine that you are in a place between Russia and Canada in the Arctic during the day, where there is a 24-hour day in summer time.

At a certain time, the Moon appears in its considerable size for 30 seconds (it is just above the horizon, and therefore such a size), and after it covers the Sun for 5 seconds, it disappears again. Splendor.

 James Lee:
Wow, that is truly breathtaking? Is it real?

me:
I’m not sure? It was sent to me and it is so good, I hope it is? Anymore, you never know, not too hard to create in PS?

James Lee:
It’s truly beautiful. Just a few things that don’t look right. The area claimed is polar cap region - hence permanent ice and tundra. The video shows grasslands. Also, the moons closest approach to earth is a little over 225K miles so it would be about the size of a grape fruit, so unless the person was using a super zoom lens or something. It would not appear that big. The problem with that is the zoom lens would not be able to keep up with the speed of movement. It could be argued they used time lapse - but the zoom and fluid movement negates that. Looks like someone creative/artistic used software to create the video most likely.

Sorry if I mislead, but above you can see the big advantage of having smarter friends and former students.

A great 1minute video, Nike contract, here.

Jacki, the 2 Sisters are so pretty! Really love them.
Of course I wanted to say that the color of the leaves changes beautifully before falling down.
The short film fooled me - I found it so great and didn't think about if this could even be possible. Silly me. Never mind.
The fog lifted today only in the early afternoon. The sun came out, so my dear friend and I could sit in the sunshine in her garden - wearing winter jackets and warm winter shoes. Nevertheless we really enjoyed it.
