Something special for the holiday today,
brought to my notice by Blog Correspondent, Carrol Wolf.
"When you get a chance,  look up the 25th Street Mosaic.
It is about a large public mural in San Pedro.
It's a little overly long but really fascinating."
And, I did. Thank you Carrol!

Julie Bender
Picture a 200' wall, conceived by artist Julie Bender.
Taking 2 years, 8 months to complete with the help of 300 locals.
(Julie said she slept for 2 months on completion.)

I snagged a few screen captures,
hoping to lure you to the comprehensive 20 min. video, here
Well worth your time, when you have the time.
A 3 min. Ray Kelly video, here.
And, a short 2 min. abc-news video, here.

Congratulations to Julie Bender and 300 helpers! Wow!

Blog Austria correspondent,
Heidi has sent a few shots from her walk today.

"After a rainy night, the sun came out.
So we could go walking again."

"It was so lovely to meet these 8 weeks old cuties."

all Austria photos by Heidi Putscheg

I think we all appreciate Heidi and pictures from Austria?

• A 2 min, video, firework dictionary, (sound down or off?), here.
• A 7 min. funny animation, "Some Thing", here.
• A 4 min. amazing animation, here.

Smiles for Saturday ...

From Merriam-Webster: via Austin Kleon
Doomscrolling and doomsurfing are new terms referring to the tendency to continue to surf or scroll through bad news, even though that news is saddening, disheartening, or depressing. Many people are finding themselves reading continuously bad news about COVID-19 without the ability to stop or step back.
Don’t do it! Put on a mask and go for a walk instead.
