What we saw in Menerbes on the fifth day  ...

About a thirty-five minute drive through Provence countryside.

Ménerbes is a commune (the smallest French territorial division
for administrative purposes) in the Vaucluse department in
the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.
A walled village on a hilltop in the Luberon mountains,
foothills of the French Alps.

Three and four storied buildings survive five hundred years.

The view from the top is amazing  ...

notice the crucifix driveway?
in every direction.

This large sculpture was on the hillside. No title or artist information. I titled it "enough". You can make up your own too.

Lots of steep ups and downs.

Picuresque scenes everywhere.

A local shop has sandwiches ready for the lunch crowd.

I never thought this would happen in my 2,634 days of
sequential posting, but I have to share the toiltettes in Menerbes.

State of the art toilettes.

Sparkling clean and disinfected after every use...
the sink has soap, water and drying (LtoR) at the sink.

When you enter you press the locking button for privacy.
When you leave the door again locks for disinfecting.
True story, one of our group kindly held the door open
for her friend to enter. The door locked and promptly
disinfected her friend. That story never gets old.

*Sorry if this is to too long, leave a comment if it is, or isn't?

Last, I wanted to share the lunch when we returned from Menerbes.

Later that day we has supper at 7:30 pm.

I took pictures of most of the food,
but the smarter ones took notes!
I just know every dish was delicious.

A smile for Sunday ...

Jacki,

I am just today opening this blog and what wonderful memories it is reminding
me of, that fantastic two weeks we had in Provence. It was a very rich
experience with all the great trip mate ladies, Liz's exceptional food,
and David's driving us all over the area every day. All of it is engraved
in my memory for always. Jane
