Westminster Dog Show 2023
Thousands of dogs have descended upon New York City for what may
be the most eventful week of their lives – or, at least, their humans’
lives. The dogs, among the most beautiful and well-behaved in the
country, have trained for this for months or years.
They’ve come to compete in the canine equivalent of the Olympics or the Oscars. It’s the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.
Breed judging is streaming live on
the Westminster Kennel Club’s website Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. ET. The channel FS2 will broadcast highlights from breed
judging throughout the day, though group judging – and the coveted
best-in-show crowning – can be seen only on FS1 from 7:30 p.m. to 11
p.m. ET on Tuesday.

Young Wonder-Woman (age 5) Shogun (age 2) 1978
Another quick Dad story.
If you're a Dad fan, you might remember he was a driver in the movie studios, teamster and all that. You know how guys like to joke and play tricks, right? Dad told the story of a driver named Ben, who had
been one of the first to buy a VW bug in 1954.
Everyday Ben bragged about his new VW's amazing mileage. The guys decided to take turns going to Ben's house late at night and adding gasoline to his VW's tank. Of course his mileage increased and he bragged even more. I'm not sure how long they let it go on but they all enjoyed it. Dad bought a VW bug in 1956, but that's another story.
Just because ...

Jacki, can you imagine, we bought a VW in 1975. It was an old used one that we could afford. On the next day we started traveling to Amsterdam. This was a journey of 1000 km (about 620 miles) and it was the first one on our own. As we were not used to drive that far we looked for a motel to stay over night. Next day we arrived at Amsterdam where we spent 10 days. It was such an exciting time in this exciting place. Today I ask you: TMI?
Wishing you a fine evening, Jacki!
