A feel good story ...

Our favorites this week

True loyalty
What did we ever do to deserve dogs? Look at this sweet girl, waiting patiently outside of a hospital in northeastern Turkey as her owner recovered from Covid-19. When Cemal Senturk was taken to the hospital on January 14 to receive treatment, his dog Boncuk managed to escape every single day and wait by the hospital's entrance. Hospital staff informed Senturk's family about her whereabouts, but every time they retrieved her she'd find a way out again. (Senturk lived nearby, but to this day, his family doesn't know how the dog did it.) The hospital staff was charmed by Boncuk's loyalty, and made sure she was fed and cared for during her visits. Senturk even got to see her through the window of the facility, and tried to reassure her. Still, Boncuk refused to leave until he did. Luckily, Senturk beat the disease, and was reunited with his loyal pup, who was, of course, waiting right outside for him.

2GN2S

This is the "Teeter-Totter Wall," a set of three seesaws slotted in between the gaps of the steel border wall that separates El Paso, Texas, and the Anapra community in Juárez, Mexico. The bright playground staples allowed children from both communities to play together despite the 20-foot wall between them. The temporary installation just won the 2020 Beazley Design of the Year, an annual award and exhibition run by London's Design Museum. Ronald Rael, one of the California-based architects behind the project, said the seesaws were almost like the wall itself: "What you do on one side has an impact on the other."

Again, I love everything about today's blog!Starting with the excellent collage, the feel good story and the 2GN2S to the smiles for Monday. Thanks Jacki for entertaining me so nicely.
Here vaccines already are given to the over 85-year olds first and then to other groups, when we've got enough. I don't mind not being one of the first to get one. So I also stay in distance and isolation. You are right, everything is better than getting sick. But it is really hard
