2GN2S ...

Keeping dogs and their senior owners together.

Having a dog has been shown to improve the quality of life for senior citizens, increasing their activity and socialization. But what happens as people age and it becomes more challenging to care for a pet? Carie Broecker has a solution. She founded Peace of Mind Dog Rescue in 2009 as a way for seniors who are entering nursing homes or other care facilities to make sure their beloved pets are looked after. The organization has helped more than 2,000 seniors and 3,000 dogs find peace and dignity during fragile times of life. Peace of Mind Dog Rescue also has a volunteer dog walking program for older pet owners who just need a helping hand now and then.

"Remember going to dinner at Traders Point Creamery, the organic dairy farm/restaurant when you were here?"

Traders Point Creamery  9101 Moore Road  Zionsville, IN 46077  (317)-733-1700

(me)Yes, we had a delicious meal in the idyllic surroundings.

Trader's Point Creamery has gourmet meals in a real working farm, specializing in From our soil, to our handcrafted products, to our farmstead tables, that has won numerous awards.

"Jayden got a job there!  She is milking cows and caring for the pigs and chickens."

"She brings the cows in from the pasture, hooks them up to the milking machines, then they amble out of the milking parlor when they are done."

"Yesterday a calf was born during her shift, and she got to name it!  He is ‘Freddy’,  a Brown Swiss cow. Here he is, just minutes after he was born,

taking a ride to the safety of the barn.  His mom mooed in protest but she was quickly reunited with him in the barn."

"This is a great job for her right now.  She is taking a gap year between high school and college and she wants to study sustainable farming/farm management, so she is learning a lot about that, plus practical things like how to drive an all-terrain vehicle and a farm tractor!"

"She is in her element!"
