2GN2S ...

A wise lesson ...

A wise teacher once brought balloons to school, told her pupils to blow them up and write their name on one. After the children tossed their balloons into the hall, the teacher moved through the hall mixing them all up. The kids were given five minutes to find the balloon with their name on it, but though they searched frantically, no one found their own balloon.
Then the teacher told them to take the balloon closest to them and give it to the person whose name was on it. In less than two minutes, everyone was holding their own balloon.

The teacher said to the children, “These balloons are like happiness. We won’t find it when we’re only searching for our own. But if we care about someone else’s happiness … it will ultimately help us find our own.”

I have  been watching the Little League national championship series!

The Little League Baseball World Series is an annual baseball tournament for boys—aged 11 & 12 years old, held in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

There is such a wide range in size and maturity within the 11 & 12 years ...

They show the stats for each batter, and I saw from 4'10" to 6'1" and 76 pounds to 185 pounds.

Their intensity was palpable. As is the sportsmanship for the most part, I saw a runner tap knuckles with the first baseman.

Even from the dugout, rapt attention and focus to the game at hand.

Players from earlier games watched and ate. Hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, drinks, cotton candy & all the healthy choices.

It is double elimination within the 20 regional champions.  A team would have to lose twice to be eliminated. The overall champion will play the International champion team. I might mention, that all of the referees, groundsmen, booth keepers etc. are all non-paid volunteers, because they love this game. An American tradition since 1939. when Little League international baseball organization was formed for children and teenagers, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, by Carl E. Stotz and brothers Bert and George Bebble. The league originally included boys age 8 to 12. Girls have been admitted since 1974. Texas has a girl team member in 2022.
