Artist Illustrates Everyday Life With His Wife and 1-Year-Old Daughter

While most families document their lives through photos, Tel-Aviv-based illustrator Yehuda Devir captures heartwarming daily moments through art. His ongoing comic series, One of Those Days, gives a peek into the life he shares with his wife Maya and their little daughter, Ariel.

From bedtime cuddles to bath time, all of Devir’s drawings from the past year show just how loved-up the young family are.

However, the artist doesn’t shy away from depicting parenthood in an honest light.

He often illustrates tough moments such as Ariel’s teething pain, and even their current situation, cooped-up together in quarantine and struggling to balance work and family life under one roof.

No matter what they’re faced with, though, Devir and Maya’s illustrated doppelgängers are depicted lovingly working as a team, while baby Ariel looks as happy as ever.

The latest illustrations from One of Those Days, and you can follow Devir on Instagram to keep up to date with this family's illustrated daily moments.

At his website, here, he has everything from t-shirts, to online drawing lessons,  cartoon booklets, lectures and more.Due to blog space, I have chosen just a few.

Maybe I am close-minded? But I don't think an Evocado will be in my future, by choice. Developed by London-based researcher and designer Arina Shokouhi, it is an eco-friendly avocado alternative. Said to be a greener alternative to ‘green gold’...

Often referred to as “green gold,” the avocado has soared in popularity in recent years. Eleven billion pounds of the fruit are consumed annually around the world according to the World Economic Forum. Our love of avocados comes at a cost to the environment: approximately 2,000 liters of water are used to grow just one kilogram of avocados.

At first glance, the Ecovado is nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. Made with beeswax and natural food coloring containing spinach and charcoal powders, the Ecovado skin mimics avocado peel. The meat of the alternative fruit is made with four simple ingredients: broad beans as the base, apple for freshness, cold-pressed rapeseed oil for creaminess, and a sprinkle of hazelnut. A whole chestnut or hazelnut is used for the pit.

“The taste maybe is not 100% exactly like avocado,” Shokouhi says, “but that doesn’t matter as an alternative as long as it tastes good and it looks the same and it’s healthy.”

Hmmm?

I like everything about ‘Why”. So effective using the white writing over the image. The orange in the piece is an amazing choice. Well done! :-)
