The tradition stared last year, here.

Our families have been together for almost 40 years.
Both girls call both Moms, Mom.
And both Moms claim both daughters.

So now, you know the cast of characters, a bit of history,
let me rundown what we fit into three days!
Day 1
Thursday morning Erin (aka WW) drove us to Palm Springs!
Lunch at the downtown original Las Casuelas, perfect!
Followed by shopping on Palm Canyon Drive.
Then a few hours at Palm Springs Art Museum *
(* extensive museum photos will be in tomorrow's blog)
Time to check into Omni's Rancho Las Palmas for two nights.
Dinner reservations at Tommy Bahama's!
A leisurely meal and a lot of laughter.
Followed by some Palm Desert shopping then back to the hotel.
Day 2
Each morning started with tea delivered to get us going.
Brunch reservations at Il Corso
Next pool time for a few hours.
Room time for rest & then reservations at the Yardhouse.
We were there in time for Happy Hour, appetizers half price.
We ordered five appetizers and had our own buffet!
So smart & so good!
Someone said ice cream for dessert? Another tradition?
And you might think
we were done?
Hardly.
Next we were off to
Agua Caliente Casino!
Big spenders started on the 1c slots!
$20 and cashed out with $41.23
Moving on to the extravagant 25 c slots!
$20 and cashed out with $51.25
Small potatoes, but I was happy.
Back to the hotel where we sat outside
listening to a 3 man band.
Life is so good.
Day 3
Checked out before 11 AM
Brunch reservations at Acqua California Bistro
then off to a11:30 movie at Century Theater at the River ...
with reclining luxury seats!
After the show, there were a couple of photo opps in the hallway.
The proper use of booster seats.
lovely! |
Followed by returning to downtown Palm Springs for mainly window shopping & people watching for a few hours.
After which it was time for a last stop at ...
It's a tradition.
Erin started our drive home at 4 PM.
All feeling so grateful for this time together.
TMI?
Probably, but I did this as a record for us.
Thanks for your patience.
A smile for Sunday ...
Happy Mother's Day!
