It's a tradition, thank goodness.
Our daughter's spoil us with a weekend getaway.
The destination again this year is Palm Springs.
Our 2018 trip is here, & here, and 2017 here.

Cheryl & Erin (aka WW), 1979

These two have been best friends since age 5 & 6. Non-stop.
The Moms too. And now that our girls are grown up,
they spoil us with this wonderful tradition.

2019 started Friday morning with our drive to Palm Springs.
The 91 had a stand still for awhile, but nothing
could stop our enthusiastic anticipation.

We arrive in town in time to eat lunch at Las Casuelas,
another tradition.

Next, some shopping on Palm Drive and

Time to check into our hotel, Indian Wells Resort Hotel.
This Mom was still weary from the earlier trip. So, Carole, Cheryl & Erin changed and went to the hotel pool for the afternoon,
This Mom took a nap.

Next on the agenda, a reservation for dinner at Cliff House.

A gorgeous mountaintop destination featuring prime rib &
fresh fish with impressive views & an outdoor patio.

The food and service was great!
We sat in the patio area and had a great time.

Carole and Erin ordered the Lemon Chicken Linguine Pasta with
confit chicken, baby artichokes, spinach, walnuts,  parmesan cheese

Cheryl ordered the Pan Roasted Chilean Sea bass with
honey-soy glaze, sticky rice, Asian slaw green curry-coconut sauce.

I ordered the Thai Spice Scallops with key lime
coconut butter | tropical fruit salsa & cashew black rice

Erin was kind enough to share a bit of her delicious linguine, and
I promptly dropped my first bite on my phone. Not a tradition.

Dessert, Cliff House Ice Cream Pie, was decadent but welcome.

Downstairs with a doggie box.

One more photo for the road.

A lovely evening and a great start to our get-away.
Thanks for joining us. Have a lovely day.

A smile for Saturday ...

Home from the fabulous Mother Daughter trip,
here, here, & here.
I pushed to go to day class today,
and after crashed in a too long nap.
Have you done that? Waking & don't know what day it is?
So, now I pay the price, but it was worth every minute,
what's that saying "time to pay the piper?"

I don't usually post jokes,
but this, to me, is worth the exception?

A husband and wife who worked for the circus
went to an adoption agency.  The social workers
there raised doubts about their suitability.

The couple then produced photos of their 50-foot motor home, which was clean, well maintained & equipped with a beautiful nursery. The social workers then raised concerns about the education a child would receive while in the couple's care.

"We've arranged for a full-time tutor who will
teach the child all the usual subjects along with
French, Mandarin, and computer skills."

Then the social workers expressed concern about a
child being raised in a circus environment. Our nanny will
be a certified expert in pediatric care, welfare, and diet."
The social workers were finally satisfied.

She asked, "What age child are you hoping to adopt?"
"It doesn't really matter ... as long as the kid fits in the cannon."

Thanks Raquel!

Thursday afternoon, first day of the three day
annual Mother-Daughter get away,

With the largest show of Andy Warhol prints ...

I took a ton of pictures, okay 96, but that's a lot.
Some are closeups of sections of works ...

early work & factory

They were more, but I only photographed my favorites.

We also enjoyed seeing the ...

some had the
appearance
of ceramics
but all were
glass.

Again, many more on exhibit. I shot my favorites.

This museum is wonderful, well worth the time necessary to see it.

This couple attracted attention,  resting on a bench ...

they were actually a life-like sculpture,
I kept waiting for her to move!
