.Moments of Isolation and Belonging
Explored in Surreal Composite Photographs by May Parla
Photographer May Parlar
punctuates open landscapes
with colorful elements like masses of
balloons and accessories separated from human wearers. Her work reflects
on themes of belonging and alienation, Parlar
seeks to “explore the human condition through a feminist perspective.” To build her fanciful scenes, Parlar
explains that she layers frames to build composite images rather than
manipulating the content. “I work across different mediums such as photography, film, performance
art, sculpture, installation, and landscape art; and all of which gets
merged in the end and put together with a glue that for me is the
camera”.
The artist first was first drawn to photography and film-making during her architecture and design schooling in the U.K. Parlar describes herself as a global nomad and is currently based in Berlin. See more of her imaginative images on Instagram, and purchase limited edition prints on Saatchi Art.
Keep dogs and senior owners together. this Hero delivers ‘Peace of Mind’
Carie Broecker, who
founded a special dog rescue that keeps ailing and elderly owners
connected with their pets, even when they can't care for them. Peace of
Mind Dog Rescue also provides others support, like a volunteer dog
walking program, to help out seniors that may otherwise feel like they
need to part with their pet. Read Carie's story here.

Love your collage, Jacki! I love all of your collages. They all are different from each other and they all are excellent, that's so great.
Of course I like this piece immensely. Guess what I especially like?…the typed sideways numerals. I bet you never would have guessed that! :-)
Thank you Elenor. I toggle back and for between liking the simple few pieced, and the over-done myriad of pieces.Tomorrow is a more.
Thanks John, you are right I wouldn't have guessed that, but are you surprised that it's my favorite part?
