2GN2S ...

Huge tunnel opened below Niagara Falls

A new attraction has opened at Niagara Falls, allowing visitors to explore the tunnel created by an electricity generating company to harness hydro power from the landmark's fast-flowing waters.

The rocks beneath the gigantic triple waterfall that straddles the border between the US state of New York and Canada's province of Ontario are honeycombed with chambers carved out to harness the powerful forces of nature thundering overhead.

The 670-meter tunnel was carved out of the rock more than a century ago.

And now, a 670-meter (2,198-foot) tunnel built more than a century ago on the Canadian side has been opened up to reveal the awesome scale of these engineering marvels.

Cyclindrical blue generators once converted the force of the water into electricity.

Since July 2022, it's been part of tours of the decommissioned Niagara Parks Power Station tour which began a year earlier. Exploring it offers a fascinating glimpse into pioneering work that helped bring this corner of North America into the modern age. The power station, which operated from 1905 until 2006, diverted water from the mighty Niagara River to run giant generators that electrified regional industry and contributed to the nearby Great Lakes port of Buffalo becoming known as the City of Light.

The tunnel once held 71,000 gallons of water moving at nine meters per second.Visitors can also access a viewing platform which offers a unique viewpoint of the famous cascade.

A glass elevator takes visitors down 55 meters past the six levels of infrastructure required for the hydro power generation process. At the bottom is the tunnel where the water would exit. "You can see how high the water went," he says. "The tunnel held 71,000 gallons of water that moved at nine meters per second." Built like a fortress, the gently curving tunnel comprises four layers of brick and 18 inches of concrete and is surrounded by shale.

I've been watching the World Series, lots of drama!

The American League Astro's against this October's biggest underdog, the Phillies? Welcome to the 2022 World Series. The AL's No 1 seed, the Houston Astros, went undefeated in the first two rounds as they rolled to their fourth Fall Classic in six years. The Philadelphia Phillies -- the sixth seed in the National League, with the worst regular-season record of any team in the playoffs -- upset their way to their first World Series since 2009.

The winner will be the best out of 7 games, the Astro's are ahead 3-2 as of today. Next game will be Saturday from Houston.
I once more thought of the new app I am working on.
It's not perfected yet ... still some bugs to work out.
You see I love to watch sports, all of them!

Okay, maybe not golf, but gymnastics, basketball,
tennis, horse racing, rugby, ice skating, all of it.

I am working on a way to burn the calories
of the activity being watched. Seems only fair for dedicated watchers, right?

When I told GH#3 about the app, he immediately said that I will make a fortune! When I told GH#1 (the techie) and he said it's not that impossible?

There is so much that we take for granted, water, heat, food, shelter. War can take it all away in a split second. Why? Power hungry! Only an insensitive person would do that to another human being! That is who we are dealing with…Putin! Keep creating Jacki! :-)
