Japan’s Jimi ‘Mundane’ Halloween Costumes, Last Week!

Japanese festival "Jimi Halloween", where people dress up in costumes so mundane they have to be explained. The tradition was started in 2014 by a group of adults at Daily Portal Z who “kind of wanted to participate in the festivities of Halloween, but were too embarrassed to go all out in witch or zombie costumes.” So instead of the flashy and flamboyant costumes they had been seeing gain popularity in Japan, where they dress up in mundane, everyday costumes.

Yukizuri

It's November, which means it the time of year when gardeners across Japan begin preparing for snow in an activity known as yukizuri. And nowhere is this tradition more beautifully displayed than at Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa.

Over 500 gardeners work through November and mid-December tying up 800 trees with a total of 4 tons of rope in radial patterns to give them extra support when it snows.

Have a good start into the next week.

I like how the four focal points compete with each other. You are right that they are in conflict. An artistic metaphor for the conflict in the Ukraine. Well done! :-)
