"Anniversary Condolences": photo, digital collage. |
Today, February 24, 2023 is the one year anniversary of the monstrous invasion of the Ukraine by Russia. I have been doing daily art to keep me aware of their hardship in my own limited way. I would love to stop, but they can't.

We are welcoming our guests from around the world to cold, rainy even some hale and snow? We have been assured that Sunday, our 53rd Annual International Goodwill Tournament we should have clear weather. We have coaches and competitors from Spain, France, Costa Rica, Panama, Canada, Greece, Germany, Mexico,so far. And from the US, New York, Colorado, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, Kansas,Texas, Indiana and many more to come.
My apologies to those of you who have really bad weather, blackouts &severe temperatures. We in So Cal are all spoiled and are wimps compared to you brave ones.
After day class, Wednesday, February 22, 2023 a bunch of us went to eat Ramen with Demura Sensei.
Great people from all over the world, glad to be together and most of all, loving being with Demura Sensei!

Is there any hope this tragedy will end soon? How many condolences will still be needed? It's such an unbelievable waste of life.
Here in Austria we had some springlike days with higher temperatures than yours. Totally crazy - it should be deep winter. But in the next days winter will return. I hope spring will return in So Cal.
Have a warmer weekend, Jacki.
Thanks Elenor, I am afraid it will continue as a cold and rainy Saturday, and A clearing, but continued cold day for Sunday, which is a blessing for our tournament Then three more days of cold and rain, Monday through Wednesday? We need the rain, but we're getting so much at once, we are having floor=ding and mud slides.
I am glad you have had some lovely day, have a great weekend.
Is it possible to have hope in the Ukrainian devastating environment? You have to have hope but your piece represents that hope with the choice of crocuses. Splendid piece, Jacki! :-)
Thanks so much, John. We must have hope but it is "muzukashi"??
