2GN2S ...

Cancer death rates fall steadily in the US, with more survivors than ever

18 million

That's how many cancer survivors there were in the US as of January, according to a new report from the American Association for Cancer Research. Losing someone special ...

I guess it is to be expected, but we are never prepared or ready. I got news from Cousin Martha in Indiana, on Monday, that my cousin, Katha had passed.

Katha was a great lady. As a child, I often went to Indiana for the summer. Katha, also an only child, and took me in and treated me as a little sister. Only four years difference in age, but I admired her so. She was kind, beautiful and oh so accomplished. She was in 4-H and had a whole wall full of 4-H ribbons, predominantly blue. They were from cooking, sewing, showing animals, projects ... she could do it all. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Chuck.
They later had Alana, Carmen and David. Katha was a master teacher, having graduated with a bachelors and masters degree from Butler University. A loving grandmother of Dana, Marcus, Jayna, Aaron, Kalene, and Austin and nine great grandchildren, Briana, Taylor, Bella, Alivia, Abbi, Eli, Ayden, Dean, Liam, and Jackson, the family matriarch.

"And can it be that in a world so full and busy the loss of one creature makes a void so wide and deep that nothing but the width and depth of eternity can fill it up."  Charles Dickens

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was a very cool, very wonderful person! No wonder you two got along so well.

Ah, thanks Sam. You are right on her part, she was wonderful and will be greatly missed. At my age we have to expect deaths to be more frequent. There were 5 of us cousins, all girls, now we are three. Hope you had a great summer and are ready for fall?

So sorry for your loss, Jacki. It's always too early to lose a loved person no matter how old we are.
Have a nice weekend!

I love how you can take a word and create a piece of abstract art that represent that word. Again, well done! :-0
