Do You Know Little Amal?

Well, she is not so little. Little Amal is a 11 ft partly-animatronic giant puppet which was used as the centrepiece of a performance art project called   The Walk.

She walks with the help of a man inside on stilts who can see through the cage of her bodice.

Her hands move beautifully with the help of a person with a connecting pole on either side.

I will attach videos so you can see her walk, I think it has a hauntingly life-like appeal.

Little Amal represents a fictional nine-year-old Syrian refugee girl, embodying displaced children today. The giant puppet was created by the South Africa-based Handspring Puppet Company. "The Walk" tells Amal's life story, and her search for her mother and flight to safety. Her journey begins in Turkey. Since July 2021 she has travelled over 8,000km in support of refugees. Amal has since been to Cheltenham and Nottingham and is now (1 day ago) halfway through her journey.

Update ...

Philosopher Alan Watts on mistakes:

"Regard yourself as a cloud, in the flesh, because you see, clouds never make mistakes. Did you ever see a cloud that was misshapen? Did you ever see a badly designed wave? No, they always do the right thing. But, if you will, treat yourself for a while as a cloud or a wave and realize that you can’t make a mistake whatever you do. Because even if you do something that appears totally disastrous, it will all come out in the wash somehow or another. Then through this capacity you will develop a kind of confidence. And through confidence you will be able to trust your own intuition."
