As mentioned yesterday, Saturday, here was ...

at Catalyst for Art Supply Warehouse, in Westminster, CA.
9 artists of varying experience worked for six hours
on a 30 x 40" canvas at standing easels at Catalyst.

by Kim

Kim, new to a big canvas,  drew a great tree & used
acrylic, then collage with sewing patterns for the tree .

by Risa

Risa's first class, and she really was a a natural at collage.
She decided on a seascape which is a work in progress.

by Kenshin

Kenshin had oil painting experience, but
graphite & mixed media was a new adventure.

by Stacie

Stacie combined collage topped with acrylic
for the background of her micro-organisim.

by Mitzi

Mitzi brought an even bigger framed canvas to work on,
(the green is masking tape to protect the frame)
we felt Mitzi had a Miro feel to her work.

by Gitty

Gitty drew family members using Stabillo crayons, in each member's favorite color, using acrylic for background & skintone.

by George

George worked on a nightmare vision in graphite  & acrylic.

by Carmen

Carmen, well known Seal Beach artist,
brought a photo to work from.

I especially loved her use of collage, so subtle.

I so enjoyed this group and their individualism.
A group that was interested in each others work and in
learning from each other in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere.

A little gift to ourselves, six uninterrupted hours
to play, create, laugh and be with kind people.
