Inside the $50M penthouse

The Waldorf Astoria Miami, a supertall skyscraper with a glittering multi-cube structure, is set to be completed in 2027.

that will crown the Waldorf Astoria Miami. The developers behind Miami’s glittering Waldorf Astoria supertall have unveiled the first look at the 1,049-foot tower’s $50 million penthouse, one of the most expensive units to come to market in the city.

The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property — which spans some 13,000 square feet — will sit at the top of the nine stacked cubes that make up the vertiginous building, situated on a waterfront stretch in downtown Miami. It’s currently slated to be completed in 2027 by architect Carlos Ott and the firm Sieger Suarez.

Six-bedroom, nine-bathroom property spans more than 13,000 square feet.

Renderings of the penthouse’s interior — designed by the firm BAMO — showcase a modern, airy unit with wraparound windows, enclosed balconies, recessed lighting and luxe marble finishes. Rooms include a private gym, spa, library and theater.

The theme of the interiors was "transcendence," according to the design studio BAMO.

“Even with the great skyscrapers of the world — in Dubai, Hong Kong, New York — there’s a lot of towers,” said Ryan Shear, managing partner of the building’s developer, PMG. With the Waldorf Astoria Miami, he continued, “you get to be on top of a world-class city.”

Miami skyscrapers have been creeping upwards since their maximum allowable height was raised several years ago by the Federal Aviation Administration.

Waldorf Astoria Miami is one of several forthcoming projects that will top out at 1,049 feet.

I have been asked to do an art demo for the Huntington Beach Art League on Wednesday, November 1st. So I am working, preparing for that. It will be at the beautiful, new HB Senior Center on Goldenwest off of the 405 freeway. It starts at 7 PM and done by 8:30. HBAL asked to to post this on my blog and invite anyone that is interested. It's free, you don't have to be a member to attend. It's a great group, I've been a member since 1999. I will be working with about 6+ messed-up canvases and try to finish or at least improve them. To show the recycling of canvases using gesso, collage and acrylic.

Love this collage, Jacki!
Nine bathrooms but no studio for making art .... I had to laugh. The view is indeed magnificent.
Happy Sunday, Jacki!

Well, for me: at first the spaces are drop dead gorgeous. But the thought of trying to get out of a bed that is 8" from the floor and actually stand up on my own is daunting. (Well maybe you just roll out until you hit something you can grab and then pull yourself up. (Perhaps they should put an age limit on tenants.

Thanks Elenor! I can't remember how many bedroom for 9 bathrooms? But surely they could commandeer a room for a studio if needed??

Thanks, Carrol! It's funny, I was thinking about having to park, then carry on an elevator to my penthouse. Also cleaning? Wow!

I love being surprised by you. Each daily piece makes me want more. I think that is why I do not come daily to your site. The way I do it is wait days to pass and then an art journey begins. Fun to do! :-)
