2GN2S ...

Stairs (Steps) Around The World

Abandoning the flat canvas of buildings, some street artists take to the stairs, transforming them into magnificent works of urban art.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s with paint, plants, mosaics or wallpapers – the end goal is beauty  ...to be shared & enjoyed by all. This phenomenon is not a localized one and ...is happening all around the world. Here are 20 of the world’s most stunning stairs:

Ottawa, Canada

Seoul, South Korea

Valparaiso, Chile

Tehran, Iran

Taegu Mures, Romania

Auckland, New Zealand

Berlin, Germany

Tokyo, Japan

Sicily, Italy

Heidelberg, Germany

Liege, Belgium

Sicily, Italy

Morlaix, France

Philadelphia, PA, USA

London, England

San Francisco, CA, USA

Rio de Janero, Brazil

Poznan, Poland

San Francisco, Ca, USA

Seoul, South Korea

Amazing talent from around the world.
I apologize that I didn't have access to
give individual artist credit, only their location.

Did you have a favorite?

I found this photo of a former student Cole, circa 2006, and I remembered the story behind the photo.

He had been awarded a stripe for his purple belt
after his second class. Just a 8" white grosgrain ribbon, but so important to the students as it signified advancement. We had the policy that the recipient should sew his stripe on. Cole asked for the  thread and a needle and spent 35 minutes. His first time sewing anything. Afterwards I found him sleeping and got this photo. I love old photos.

Definitely a great representation of ‘upheaval”. Another winner, Jacki. :-)

All stairs are fabulous and it's hard to say which one I find best. Maybe the first one from Ottawa, Canada with the dog? But I like all the others too.
Happy Friday, Jacki!

Thank you, Elenor! I am in Lake Havasu, AZ as I write. It's a long drive to get here, but beautiful scenery! Have a great week!
