A quick step-by-step ...
step 1: rough sketch with china marker on heavy parchment |
I liked the quirky position.
step 2: china marker |
Darkening, shading and thinking about background.
step two: china marker in red and black |
China marker is really fun to play with.
step 4 china marker + gesso |
I covered the red background with white gesso,
then scribbled in it while it was wet.
A few highlights in gesso.
Which do you like best?
Got up early to go to Tustin's Cream Pan Bakery.
You see I needed strawberry croissants, big time.
I am going to Stacy & Michael's engagement party ...
and I said I'd bring sweets!
and this really fits the bill.
If you go, expect a wait, I was 16th in line at 8:15 am.
And yes, it really is that good!
I have just mentioned their famous strawberry croissants,
they have cakes, rolls, breads and so much more.
I get no free croissants for mentioning this bakery,
buy would be open to it, if it happened! ;o)
