2GN2S ...

On October 7th, here, I told you about the Fat Bear week and contest.

Well, there's a new champion brown bear in Alaska's Katmai National Park & Preserve.

A winner was announced Tuesday night, October 11, in the park's annual Fat Bear Week contest. Bear 747 (1400 pounds) collected the most votes, triumphing over his worthy challenger 901. If you would like to see a short video about some of the competing bear, go here, sorry there's a short ad first.

First of all, thank you to all the kind souls who checked on me after the missing blog yesterday. I appreciate you caring and thoughtfulness. It felt like somebody pulled the plug at 3pm, all energy drained out and I went to bed for 20 hours. Sleeping off and on and no food. Today I am up and moving.
Thanks again.

And I thought you might enjoy this, not an update, but fun ...

A giant Cheeto with massive fingers coated in orange dust becomes a roadside attraction.

A giant Cheeto, complete with massive fingers coated in orange dust, has become a roadside attraction in Alberta, Canada.

You expect to find Cheetos in a bowl or a bag, but not in a field. Yet there it is, on the side of the road in a tiny Canadian hamlet, a sculpture that even the snack's mascot would call "dangerously cheesy."

You'd be surprised at how many people want to get up close and personal with a giant Cheeto. At any given moment, you could find about 40 to 50 people visiting the attraction. That's about half of the population of Cheadle, Alberta, Canada, the site of the giant Cheeto.

The makers of Cheetos commissioned the 17-foot-tall sculpture created by a local company that makes movie props.  Cheadle's board of directors was happy to have it. "Our hamlet isn't getting anything out of this other than a lot of tourists rolling through our town," Jane Mitton, a resident of Cheadle, said.

The people behind Cheetos chose Cheadle because the town's name sounds like 'cheetle,' which is the name for the orange dust you end up having to wipe off your hands or lick off your fingers.

Watch the video HERE to see how long the giant Cheeto will be there and for more on this story.

Definitely. You definitely have represented the word and have united it with the fact that that is what is happening in the Ukraine. You have a powerful voice. :-)
