It's a tradition, thank goodness.
Our daughter's spoil us with a weekend getaway.
The destination again this year is Palm Springs.
Cheryl & Erin (aka WW), 1979 |
These two have been best friends since age 5 & 6. Non-stop.
The Moms too. And now that our girls are grown up,
they spoil us with this wonderful tradition.
they spoil us with this wonderful tradition.
2019 started Friday morning with our drive to Palm Springs.
The 91 had a stand still for awhile, but nothing
could stop our enthusiastic anticipation.
We arrive in town in time to eat lunch at Las Casuelas,
another tradition.
Next, some shopping on Palm Drive and
Time to check into our hotel, Indian Wells Resort Hotel.
This
Mom was still weary from the earlier trip. So, Carole, Cheryl &
Erin changed and went to the hotel pool for the afternoon,
This Mom took a nap.
Next on the agenda, a reservation for dinner at Cliff House.
A gorgeous mountaintop destination featuring prime rib &
fresh fish with impressive views & an outdoor patio.
The food and service was great!
We sat in the patio area and had a great time.
Carole and Erin ordered the Lemon Chicken Linguine Pasta with
confit chicken, baby artichokes, spinach, walnuts, parmesan cheese
Cheryl ordered the Pan Roasted Chilean Sea bass with
honey-soy glaze, sticky rice, Asian slaw green curry-coconut sauce.
I ordered the Thai Spice Scallops with key lime
coconut butter | tropical fruit salsa & cashew black rice
Erin was kind enough to share a bit of her delicious linguine, and
I promptly dropped my first bite on my phone. Not a tradition.
Dessert, Cliff House Ice Cream Pie, was decadent but welcome.
Downstairs with a doggie box.
One more photo for the road.
A lovely evening and a great start to our get-away.
Thanks for joining us. Have a lovely day.

Have a terrific time with your daughter and friends. It looks like you are really enjoying your weekend. I love Mimi. She has a reflective or is it a concerned look? :-)
What a wonderful tradition. You two moms are so lucky to have these special daughters. I gained a few pounds here this morning just by looking at the food from your dinners. That restaurant is now on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing.
Such a wonderful tradition! It's so good to see how friendships can last all live.
Thanks for sharing, Jacki Have a fine Sunday.
