Finishing up the four week Mixed Media series ...

I wanted to post some of the class work by artists.
Week 4 was mixed media on books.

Cut and used singly, or turned and used double, length-wise.

This was just
a sample.
Not great,
but showed
possibilities.

A step-by-step
of the process
making it can
 be seen here.

by Linda

Linda used a small address book, gutted & rotated length-wise,
utilizing the original book lining and adding artwork.

by Cathy

by Valerie

Valerie's book had a beautiful lining, she added her art work to it.

by Hannah
Hannah did two singles and hung one from a branch!

by Susan

Susan also used the original book lining
as the background for her art, work in progress.

Gitty chose to use her book interior as a free standing art.

by George

George lined the book inside with pages from the book,
then adding collage elements.

by Judy

Judy used her book's original lining as background,
and maybe inspiration for her work.

by Connie

Connie designed her book to hang on the wall as shown above,
then to be opened to show the artwork below, work in progress.

A great group and a fun three hours together.

Last week's class was mixed media on wood, here.
The class, being just three hours in length,
does not always allow for completion.
When I am really lucky the artists bring, or send
me photos of their completed work.

by Linda

Linda utilized photos from her childhood on the Polo Field
in Garden Grove. She reduced their size and printed
for collage onto the bamboo polo ball.
Amazing work on a round surface.

by Judy

Judy finished her wood square panel mixed media collage,
using various tissue & hand marked papers.
A beautiful gift for her granddaughter.

I love seeing the completed final works!

A smile for Saturday ...
