The Farmhouse Restaurant at Rogers Gardens

Roger's Gardens is a Southern California shopping destination for creatively curated seasonal décor and one-of-a-kind artisan pieces. It's free for parking and admission. They do have a restaurant inside. Also, have some arts collection, too. In recent years, A local home & garden destination, sitting on seven acres, for those seeking creative inspiration & unique products for outdoor & indoor living. Roger's Garden is located adjacent to the beautiful Fashion Island overlooking the Pacific.  Gavin Herbert Sr. passed down the company to his son, Gavin Herbert Jr., who is now the President. The company has since grown to over 100 employees and hosts weekly educational seminars, events, and workshops.

I was invited to lunch with Irene at Rogers Garden at 11:45. It was just perfect, she had made the hard to acquire reservations and a sweet table for two overlooking the gardens next to a huge pine tree. I apologize that I didn’t take one picture??

Irene ordered Grilled ASIAN BEEF SHORT RIBSbutter lettuce, green papaya salad, pickled Fresno chilies, sweet & spicy dipping sauce, also sweet potato fries. I order the wood fire pizza of the day, it had grilled peach, prosciutto, and other mysteries. I have half in the refrigerator as I write.

Mid meal something whizzed by the right side of my head. I thought it was a bird, I only saw a streak. But it was what I am calling a teenage delinquent squirrel, because he wasn’t very big and he definitely had issues? He landed on the railing by me and seem to want me to notice. I did, but I wasn’t going to further the relationship.  He hopped close enough that I looked in his eyes, we made eye contact. Irene said "he’s fascinated with you", and I modestly thought well I do have a thing with animals. So I was kinda flattered until I realized he just wanted my pizza! The manager and waitress shooed him away but he came back twice. I didn’t fall for it those times.

After eating, we sat in the garden for maybe an hour. Irene had her eye on this garden furniture set.

People walking by said we had the best seats in the house. We said we were paying rent. Thanks Irene, for another wonderful time together,  I am truly blessed to have you in my life.

Jacki, love your collage! Just a few pieces - what I like so much - and these colors are superb!
How nice you had a wonderful day with your friend. I too was lucky yesterday to see my friend . We had coffee and cake and lots of chatter.
And the last smile - just great!
This time my postcard arrived faster, than the last time. Crete is such a beautiful place. Your daughter will love it.
