are located in California's Eastern Sierra region, are a stunning geological formation resulting from ancient volcanic activity. I have been in a yucky mood all day today. I think I know why, but that doesn't change the fact.I have put off this update because I felt empty, I didn't know what to write. I sat at my computer and looked through my bookmarks, and came across the 52 masters video series where William Christopher Ford trains with and interviews Ryuei Ryu Karate master, Sensei Tomohiro Arashiro. I have known "Chris"as I have called him for 45 years, when he was a teenager and I was a fellow competitor in weapons. He was amazing, young, strong, talented. Now he is a amazing, strong, talented, busy adult. Sensei in his own Kaizen Dojo in Gardena, Ca. As he approached age 52, he decided to interview 52 martial arts instructors, and this video is a 40 minute treat. I originally watched it to escape my work, but came away with inspiration and a much needed attitude adjustment. Arashiro Sensei is a humble, charming man, I feel blessed to know both men.

The Crowley Lake columns are stunning. I really would enjoy visiting them.
Jacki, have a happy weekend. I hope you feel better tomorrow.
When I was a child each year we took a car vacation of my father's choice. The end goal was to go fishing, a sport he loved to his final days. Being from Los Angeles, most trips were in California. We went to Crawley lake many times on opening day fishing. My brother and I had to be quiet in a tiny boat we rented while my father fished and untangled our lines. I never saw those columns but the name Crawley brought back memories embedded with my childhood images. xo Irene
