Design firm Nendo has created a massive tree house dubbed “bird apartment,” in which visitors to the natural sanctuary can climb in and observe 78 mini-birdhouses through peep-holes. From the front, the structure resembles an urban apartment complex, except it’s entirely out of place perched high in a tree.

A slightly precarious-looking ladder
connects the back of it to the ground,

and observe each apartment unit
through the tiny holes.

The BirdApartment is located in the
Ando Momofuku Center
Komoro, Nagano Prefecture, Japan

A nature conservatory named after Momofuku Ando, .Mr. Cup Noodle, founder of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd.

The center certainly is known for for it's design as its main facility is a stunning structure ...

and for my architect friend Carrol, it was
designed by Kengo Kuma.

The Brain Chemistry of Collage

* In Kolaj #24, author, mental health professional, and collage artist Laurie Kanyer considers what is going on in the brain when an artist is making collage.

When an artist creates a collage, they use areas of the brain and body systems that calm the body and tap into creative problem solving.

Additionally, collage making meets emotional needs, providing the artist a tool to identify and express feelings and life experiences. By making a collage, people do not have to be emotionally constipated. It provides provides a way to put into the world events that are too hard or possibly even unsafe to speak out loud. The benefit of the symbolic representation of a feeling is that the creator can express, see and share that feeling in a collage.

Interesting?

This collage - excellent!
I loved to read what's going on in the brain when creating a collage.
I feel happy when I make collages. Could we add " making collages" to the Tiny Happy Things? What do you think, Jacki.

PS. We do have candles at home for the case of a blackout but I never had experienced one before that had lasted so long.
