Day 921: More than just the SuperBowl!

Angelina, paper collage, digitized

Just for the record, in case your curious?
I started today watching the Australian Open.
(I still have a love of tennis from my years in Australia)

Had a lunch date with friend Alicia at El Ranchito!

We haven't been together in years, but you know that kind
of friendship where you pick up right where you left off?
No wonder I like this lady so much ...
a fun, smart, amazing Mom and newspaper editor.
She went home to watch the Super Bowl with her family,
I left for the City of Brea, and their Art Gallery.

I had only intended to drop off my entry packet for …
their upcoming show, Made In California
But then I saw their current show …

So I thought you might want to see ...

some of my favorites?

In porcelain ...

stoneware …

in a variety of approaches ...

and glass.

The show runs through March 6th,  just in case …
you want to see these and many more, up close and personal.

It was a great show, and I still made it home in time to see ...

the second half of Super Bowl 2015 …
the fumble, the interception, and all that jazz.
A big game and a big day.
Hope you had a great day?

A smile for Monday …

Day 471: Learning to be flexible ...

better late than never.

A long, long line waiting for the opening of ...

It's a seasonal happening ...
Irvine Fine Arts Center has a large event ...

with many types of jewelry, ceramics, weaving,
printmaking, glass, fiber arts, batik, woodworking,
metal arts, candles, music, foods and more.

My only purchase, a heart for a friend.

But instead of shooting various holiday items,

I decided to feature ceramics by Gene Killian.

Not my original plan ...

but sometimes you have to be ...

flexible.

(I have two works accepted on exhibit in this show)

Day 276: Three hours in Floral Park ...

Not as well known as it should be ...
and I think the residents like it that way.

Floral Park is a beautiful part of Santa Ana, CA.
More than 600 vintage homes, wide tree-shaded streets,

large lawns, flowers galore and unique homes.
It's evident, the people treasure their neighborhood.
I took pictures of the homes for a future blog.

At this home tour, they also had a vintage car show.

I took pictures of the cars for another future blog.

So
today's
blog
will show the vendors
and
artists
at the
2013
Floral
Park
Home
Tour.

Lovebugs Rescue had dogs
for adoption.

A little bit of everything ...

Old, new, and handmade.

And now the artists ...

Joe and Chela Banuelos, husband & wife artists extraordinaire!

       To know this couple ...
            is a gift in itself.
