Family update:
WonderWoman and Superman left earlier to meet good friends fir dinner at their hotel, GH#2, Jake and wife Manu arrived this afternoon from the OC for the weekend, GH#3, Zack, should be home from work soon, GH#1, Jordan and wife, Raquel will be coming sometime and the Young and the Restless will go out to eat! It's great seeing them all together, what a blessing to grow up together and still be so close and care for each other.
Earlier today WW and I went shopping at two different stores, at Nordstrom's we both tried on ...
I was looking for something for Saturday's party, but I only bought a sweatshirt! Typical. But shopping makes us hungry, so we went to Fishers Delicatessen where we shared the greatest salad with a bagel on the side. Then a quick stop at Target and home. I took a nap but not before setting an alarm for 4:30 so I could see Day 6 of Sumo. When I returned to the family room the Superheroes were leaving for the dinner, Jake and Manu were taking a nap, after their long drive. Both dog were asleep, so it was a peaceful quiet. For awhile. WW & SM are thrilled to have the whole family together this weekend.
Remember I mentioned yesterday that Duke's new birthday toy might not remain whole? Well, Duke gave the toy llama or whatever it is, an unnecessary appendectomy and WW took it away from him. She did repair surgery, aka stitches, and Duke can't wait to get to it! Always something?
Some asked about my reading? I finished Stoner, which was very well written and thought provoking. My last finished was Alan Opts Out, which started out as a tedious read for me, but it soon morphed in to a fun read, and was also good at making me think. I have a new book with me, but haven't started it yet.
America's largest solar installation is being built not in the Mojave Desert or the Arizona sun belt but in Indiana — a massive solar project where electricity generation and agriculture can share the same land. The Mammoth Solar project in Starke County, Indiana, has a planned capacity of about 1.65 gigawatts across roughly 13,000 acres.
Instead of treating farmland and solar power as mutually exclusive, agrivoltaic systems explore how crops can continue growing around and beneath solar infrastructure. The panels can provide partial shade, while farmers and researchers study how that changes soil moisture, crop growth, and yields.
The project also creates another source of income for participating landowners through long-term lease agreements, potentially giving farming families more financial stability while renewable electricity is produced.
It is an interesting model for the future of American energy: instead of simply choosing between agriculture and solar, some projects are asking whether the same land can support both.
Indiana grows crops and increasingly, it grows electricity too.
