Andy Goldworthy

A sculptor and photographer, Andy Goldsworthy not only works with nature, but in nature. Rather than building monumental constructions on or out of the land, Goldsworthy works almost telepathically with nature, rearranging its natural forms in such a way as to enhance rather than detract from their beauty. Often quite small in scale, his poetic site-specific pieces are made from ephemeral or organic materials - dandelion flowers lain in a ring or icicles perched on a rock - and then documented through gorgeous color photographs. Goldsworthy views the inevitable death and decay in his work as part of the life cycle - he takes an environmentalist's approach, lending an utmost respect toward the natural world as most of his pieces gradually fade away into the land from which they've come.

(a beautiful video below).

You know how they say things happen in threes? Well after the water damage I showed you in yesterday's
blog, here, and being extremely tired after the day, I went to bed and turned on the tv, which had a screen saying, try to change the channel, if you can't text #####, I did that because I couldn't? I had a chat with technician Renee which lasted 55 minutes trying to fix the problem from her end. Finally they set up an appointment for Saturday 5PM to have a technician come.
Elite Restoration arrived at 8:30 and took measurement, check for moisture, marked the area etc. then they send the info and estimate to my claims agent. I needed to be in Santa Ana at 10 am to help with a dan test at out Hombu dojo, I was 10 minutes late and on the way in I fell on the steps, Skinned my knees and hands but nothing serious.
What was were the blackbelts standing outside seeing me mess up, they were kind and two young men helped me up. I made in in time to help with the rest of testing, but missed the first section.
Here's what my hallway looks like now, the pans are for the slow drips from the saturated ceiling. I asked if the young man thought the ceiling might cave in? He said he hoped not, but it could?

Thank you dear Elenor. Do you have an old wives tale about "trouble visits in threes"? Wishing you a great, healthy week.
