Fire Rainbow

Not a painting and it wasn't photoshopped either, these are extremely rare fire rainbows.
Fire rainbows, are a spectacular but extremely rare sight in the sky, caused when sunlight refracts through ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds. These ice crystals need to be positioned just right to bend light, producing vivid, rainbow-like colors that arch across the sky. The term "fire rainbow" comes from the intense, flame-like colors rather than any actual fire.

For a fire rainbow to appear, the Sun must be high in the sky, at least 58 degrees above the horizon, and the light needs to strike the ice crystals at a precise angle. These conditions make fire rainbows more common in summer and at mid-latitudes. When they occur, they often spread across large sections of the sky, creating a radiant, colorful display that can look almost otherworldly.

Sensei Fumio Demura received the Japanese Foreign Minister's Commendation November 13, 2019. This award was bestowed upon Sensei by the Japanese government at the Japanese Embassy in Hancock Park, to acknowledge his outstanding achievements in promoting friendship between Japan and the United States through martial arts. Congratulations Sensei, and thank you so much for including us on this very special day.
