A Mosaic Storyline Looks to the Sky

Using Stop-Motion Animation, a group of artists working with the collaborative Invisible Friends created “The sky has no edge,” a narrative that’s crafted almost entirely from mosaic.

Throwback Thursday

"Pho"Lunch with Demura Sensei after day class

Santa Ana, CA   2016

Last Sunday, November 3, was our 2024 Genbu-Kai. Inter-Dojo Tournament. A Shihan Demura Memorial Tournament. I didn't take photos, but Sensei Thanh Nguyen took these and more, here.

After some of us went to a new venue, and Kevin took photos.

Really good Mexican food and nice atmosphere. We'll go again.

Dear Jacki,

The creativity and whimsy in the mosaic video was delightful. At this time in my life, I am saddled with filling out endless documents for my brother, whose dementia is now full-blown: trying to get his long-term care to kick in and also get him into a memory care facility near me. It is daunting, and depressing. I tried 2-4hour shifts of caretakers at his home, and it isn't working. Plus I am opening his house each morning, buying his food, paying bills, etc. So my time to be me and have the solice of creativity is almost nil. Therefore enjoying your blogs first thing in the morning is pure elixir. Thank you.

Thanks Elenor, yes our lunches together were so special for everyone, and Demura Sensei was always happy to be eating with his students. We all miss that so much. Have a great weekend!
