Do you like home shows? DIY show? Food shows?
I do. I like all three, more so since the pandemic.
You may remember granddog Laker, visiting several days lately, as WonderWoman and Superman redid(?) their downstairs with shiplap,
wallpapers, new furniture etc. It turned out beautifully, but WW wasn't good with the messes during the process. All is fine now.

I particularly like the show, Good Bones.

A HGTV show with a mother/daughter duo Karen E. Laine and Mina Starsiak transforming properties in and around their hometown of Indianapolis. Karen's legal background and Mina's real estate knowledge help them secure diamonds in the rough, and then they hire out and help with demo and construction duties to get the houses done on time and on budget. I love their relationship.

What do you watch, or do you?

Do you have an Acupulco near you? Run right over for
60 cent tacos all day today to celebrate their 60th Anniversary.

The beloved neighborhood favorite Acapulco, known for infusing the festive flavors of Mexican-coastal cuisine with California’s freshness and innovation, has been serving Southern California since 1960. This month, the restaurant—an Xperience Restaurant Group concept—invites guests to celebrate their 60th Anniversary on Thursday, September 24, with 60-cent tacos all-day (11 a.m. to 11 p.m.) at all locations (Costa Mesa, Long Beach, Downey, and Glendale), with choice of al pastor, carnitas, grilled chicken, and carne asada. Adding to the celebrations will be live DJ entertainment starting at 5 p.m. and happy hour specials from 3-8 p.m., bringing the anniversary fiesta to life. Acapulco remains committed to safely serving its communities.

Locations throughout Southern California include Glendale, Long Beach, Downey, and Costa Mesa (now offering indoor seating at 25% occupancy). Visit the website here for a list of addresses.

Day 2264: I love Cash Cab.

NYC: photo. collage & digital

 I love Cash Cab.
Over 13,000 cabs in NYC, but only one Cash Cab.

An Emmy-winning series airing 2005 - 2012, revived in 2017.
I watch nightly on the game show network, 11-12pm.

Hosted by stand-up comedian Ben Bailey
Unsuspecting passengers enter the cab & state their destination,
the ceiling lights & fanfare plays, and  rules given  ...

and they are asked "Do you want to play? They do.

Contestants answer trivia questions during their ride.
They rack up cash for correct answers, but ...

three wrong answers means "three strikes and you're out".
The cab pulls over and lets them out.

Help options include a Mobile Shout-Out (phone call)
a and Street Shout-Out (asking a stranger on the street).

When the cab is stopped at a light,  it becomes
a "red-light challenge". (my favorite)

Reaching their destination, they can leave with their earned cash,

or they can risk it all on a video bonus question. Double or nothing.

A right answer and their cash will be doubled,
a wrong answer leaves them with nothing but a cab ride.

Even though they know they are on camera,
they soon forget and become immersed in the competition.

"There are 13,000 cabs in New York City,
but there's only one that pays you!"

. . .

Part of my love of Cash Cab is catching glimpses of NYC.

In September 2016, was my first NYC visit.
Along with WW, Daughter #2, and her Mom, Carole.
We spent 5 terrific days seeing everything.
So watching nightly brings back great memories.

I am enjoying my new book ...

Has anyone out there read it?
Any suggestions?

A smile for Sunday ...

Day 1259: How to spend a rainy day in SoCal ...

Exposition, collage,photo, drawing & digital

We so need this rain.
(I love rainy days.)
But, SoCal doesn't know what to do in the rain.
I am offering one solution of how to spend a rainy day.
Alarm rings at 4:30 AM.
Shower, dress, leave at 5:30AM.
Pick up Carole at 6 AM.
Meet Daughter #2, Cheryl, at WW's house at 6:30AM.

Allowing for traffic and rain, the "Fantastic 4" were off for LA.
Our destination, Studio City to watch a tv show taping.
Not as simple as it sounds, as the process is structured with
security screenings, release forms, dress codes & waiting.

To be in line by 9AM, taping is at 11 AM.

The Talk is taped live, and lasted one fast-paced hour.

Today's main guest was Pauley Perrette from the tv show, NCIS.

Because of the rain, we were bused to and from parking.

Sometimes the show, the Talk, features a product,
today they sent us home with a SENTE cosmetic gift bag.

More rain on the way home, and home safe by 3 PM.
WonderWoman was our excellent driver,
Cheryl our terrific co-pilot,
Carole and I enjoyed the ride.
Another "Fantastic 4" outing!
Stay tuned, we plan for more to come.

A smile for Wednesday ....
